Parent Education and Support Services is intended to foster effective parenting skills and family communication including healthy identities, extended family values, child growth and development, and self-esteem. The goal of the parenting training is to assist in the reduction of the following: child abuse, substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, gang violence, learning disorders, behavior problems, and emotional disturbances. The parenting training utilizes an evidence-based training model called COPE. The parents and/or caregivers commit to ten (10) weekly, two-hour classes. Child care is provided with age appropriate activities.
Eligibility: Parents/caregivers of children (ages 0-12), residing in Orange County, who demonstrate a need for parent training. Language(s): English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Hours of Operation: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday. Can accommodate weekend hours when necessary.
