Vaccine Information Statements (VISs)

Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) are information sheets developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that explain who should and who should not receive the vaccine, the benefits and risks of a vaccine, and what to do in case of adverse reaction.  Federal law requires that VISs be handed out to either the parent or legal representatives of any child or to any adult prior to administration of any vaccine.
