(Orange) – Orange County health care professionals will learn the latest techniques for enhancing the success of breastfeeding mothers and their families at the Blueprint for Breastfeeding Success Conference to be held Monday, October 28 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, 455 S. Main St., Orange. Breastfeeding offers positive health benefits for both babies and mothers, yet Orange County has lagged behind other California counties in the percentage of mothers exclusively breastfeeding their infants. The conference is open to nurses, registered dietitians, health educators, physicians and others who work with pregnant or parenting women. On-site registration will begin at 8 a.m., with a $50 registration fee for those signing up at the door. The conference, sponsored by the Orange County Breastfeeding Coalition and the Nutrition Services Program of the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Public Health Services, will provide practical information to those who serve breastfeeding mothers. The speakers for the one-day event are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), trained to offer assistance to mothers desiring to breastfeed their babies, even in challenging situations. ### |
