HIV Planning Council Committees
HIV Planning and Coordination

• Consists of all Council Officers, Committee Chairs, HCA Representative and Past Council Chair

• Manages Council activities between meetings

• Establishes Committees and Task Forces as needed

• Members are Persons Living with HIV (PLWHs)

• Assists in the recruitment and training of PLWHs for involvement on the Council and its Committees.

• Identifies gaps in services and recommends strategies to meet those needs

• Advises the Council on HIV-related issues in Orange County

• Assesses the housing needs of PLWHs

• Makes recommendations on the provision of housing services

• Directs recruitment processes

• Recommends individuals for appointment to the Council

• Manages Council Affiliate Program

• Annually updates the County's Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan

• Recommends strategies to promote behavior change among those at high-risk of HIV infection

• Recommends funding priorities and allocations to the Health Care Agency

• Conducts and/or reviews data collection and needs assessment activities

• Acts as year round planning body and addresses planning and related issues as mandated by the Ryan White CARE Act, and recommends actions on the same to the Council

• Recommends funding priorities and allocations to the HIV Planning Council for Ryan White CARE Act funds
