The
AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides drugs to
individuals who otherwise could not afford them. The
drugs provided by ADAP have been determined to prolong
quality of life and to delay the deterioration of health
among individuals infected with HIV.
Eligibility
Criteria:
Individuals
are eligible for ADAP if they:
are
infected with HIV
have
an annual federal adjusted gross income below
$50,000
are
not covered by/eligible for Medi-Cal or other
third-party payer**
are
a resident of California
18
years of age or older
have
a valid prescription from a California licensed
physician
Individuals
with a federal adjusted gross income below 400% of
federal poverty level ($33,000 in 2000) receive the
drugs free of charge. An individual is subject to
a co-payment obligation if his/her annual federal
adjusted gross income is between 400% of federal poverty
level and $50,000.
