Adults (PHCA)

Preventive Health Care for Adults (PHCA) services are provided
by Public Health Nurses at countywide senior sites. All
individuals 50 years and older are eligible with no share of
cost.
Individual Health Assessments include:

Personal health history
-
Review of eating habits/nutritional needs

Measurement of height, weight, blood pressure and pulse

Examination of the feet, skin and mouth
-
Hemocult screening
-
Screening for blood sugar and anemia
-
Medication usage review (prescription and over the counter)
-
Counseling to improve or maintain good health
-
Referrals to community and medical providers
Group Activities include:
