With the ever increasing number of mass violence events occurring abroad, within the nation, and past incidents in California, the necessity of making available services for victims involved in or who had witnessed the events is present. Additionally, smaller scale incidents continue to happen regularly. Victims and witnesses of crime are prone to the development of pervasive and destructive symptoms such as physical and mental illnesses, learning disabilities, addictions and deviant or aggressive behavior. In the event of a mass violent event or crime, clinicians from the Supporting Survivors program will be available for follow up and will be able to provide trauma informed care. Services will be at no cost to the client.
Behavioral Health Services (BHS) Supporting Survivors is a program specialized in treating individuals who are victims and/or witnesses of crime and/or mass violence events, including but not limited to, human trafficking, elderly victims, domestic violence survivors and terrorist attacks. Services include individual counseling, case management, referrals and linkage to community services and trauma-informed care.
