State Hospital Acute Care
The California state hospital system provides mental health services to patients admitted into Five Department of State Health facilities including Atascadero, Coalinga, Metropolitan, Napa and Patton. The programs provide intensive and individualized treatment (including medication management, and individual and group activities therapies) and are focused on maximizing recovery and helping clients to develop the skills needed to return to a community setting. Metropolitan State Hospital is a tobacco-free facility.
