The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) provides leadership in the protection of the rights, welfare, and wellbeing of subjects involved in research conducted or supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). OHRP helps ensure this by providing clarification and guidance, developing educational programs and materials, maintaining regulatory oversight, and providing advice on ethical and regulatory issues in biomedical and social-behavioral research.

The Belmont Report

The Belmont Report identifies the ethical principles in the conduct of research with human subjects. It is the principal guiding document in the US for research ethics of this nature. Read the latest Belmont Report at their website.

IT Questionnaire for Security Requirements Worksheet

Advance copy of the Security Requirements Questionnaire is available by request: irb@ochca.com. If the research protocol is determined to require IT Departmental review, the IRB office will provide this questionnaire to the investigator.
