OCEMS MICN Authorization

To be eligible for Authorization to practice in Orange County, all MICN’s must meet all of the following:

• Possess a valid, current State of California Registered Nursing license
• Not be precluded from accreditation to practice as an MICN for reasons defined in Section 1798.200 of the Health and Safety Code
• Be sponsored by an OCEMS designated Base Hospital
• Have a minimum of 1 year experience as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurses applying for MICN Authorization must complete requirements per OCEMS Policy #400.00 Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) Authorization.
