Communicable Disease Control Division

The Communicable Disease Control unit’s medical directors, public health nurses, and epidemiologists investigate individual cases and outbreaks of reported communicable disease (see List of Reportable Diseases) per the State of California Code of Regulations. We monitor disease trends, and often provide current statistics and other information to doctors, hospitals, the public and news media.

Office of Vital Records

Registers all births and deaths that occur in Orange County. Issues applications for burial permits. Provides for sale to the public certified copies of Orange County birth and death certificates.

 

IAP

Immunization Assistance Program

The Immunization Assistance Program (IAP) is part of the Family Health Division in Public Health Services for the Orange County Health Care Agency.
IAP assesses and supports immunization infrastructure in County public health clinics, community clinics, schools, and day care centers. IAP is a member and supporter of the Orange County Immunization Coalition (OCIC).

 

Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program

The California Department of Health Services (CDHS) manages the State's MMP as authorized by SB 420. Each county is responsible for implementing their own Medical Marijuana Program. Orange County has named their program: Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program (MMIC).
