Health Information Exchange in EMS
Orange County EMS is a participant in the Patient Unified Lookup System for EMS (PULSE+EMS) project sponsored by the California EMS Authority (EMSA) pursuant to grant funding provided by the Federal Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). As defined by EMSA and the ONC, the +EMS project supports the creation of bi-directional Health Information Exchange (HIE) between EMS Providers and Hospitals using the "Search, Alert, File, and Reconcile" (SAFR) workflow model. Project participants include:
- Orange County EMS
- Newport Beach Fire Department
- Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian
- One California Partnership Regional Health Information Organization (OCPRHIO)
