• How do I get a referral for PC1000?
  You do not need a referral; you may contact any provider of your choice to enroll into a program. You can also click on the provider list link to download the current provider list.
• Will the ALO monitor my enrollment into PC1000?
  No. You and your provider will be responsible for reporting your program enrollment and completion directly to the Court.
• Does the County monitor the PC1000 program?
  Yes. County staff monitor the PC1000 providers to ensure quality services and compliance with their agreement with the County.
• Do I have to pay for the PC1000 program?
  Yes. All providers post their program prices in advance and will explain their fee structure to you when you sign a contract with them.
• Do I still need to go to the appointments if I just pay for the entire program in advance?
  Yes. Most programs will not accept payment in full in advance of services. In any case, you must still complete all program requirements in order to receive credit for the program.
• Are the providers allowed to charge extra fees, such as cancellation, transfer, reinstatement fees, etc.?
  Yes. All provider fees are reviewed by the County and approved. Providers are approved to charge administrative fees for cancellations, re-scheduling of appointments, no-shows, drug tests, reinstatements, duplicate forms and transfers. All fees will be disclosed to you in advance when you sign a contract with the provider.
• What if I cannot afford the PC1000 program?
  All programs are able to conduct financial assessments and will offer you one when you first enroll in the program and at any other time you request it. Orange County programs offer sliding scale fees and fee waivers of some costs for those who qualify. Your provider will review all fees with you upon enrollment.
• Do I still have to pay if I am unemployed?
  Yes. A declaration of unemployment or having no money in and of itself does not qualify a participant for fee exempt services. Your provider can assist you determine your options through a financial assessment.
• Do you offer an accelerated PC1000 program?
  No. There are no accelerated PC1000 programs in Orange County. All programs must be completed within the time stipulated by the program length.
• Can I complete the PC1000 program online?
  There are no approved online PC1000 programs.
• The court paper says that I have to complete an 18 month program, but the PC1000 program is only 3 months. What do I do?
  The PC1000 program itself is 3 months in length. You will also need to fulfill all other court requirements, and you will be placed on probation for 1 year. You have an additional 6 months to show proof of completion of all requirements. Provided that all requirements are met, you will be eligible to have your case expunged in 18 months.
• Can staff recommend a program for me?
  No. All programs follow the same curriculum. Only you can decide which provider is best for you.
