| SPECIMEN REQUIREMENTS |
SPECIMEN: Urine (standard volume = 8 mL) CONTAINER: BD vacutainer with preservative tube (red/yellow top). COLLECTION: Clean-catch first morning void is the preferred specimen; however, any fresh random urine specimen is acceptable for chemical analysis. Midstream collection into a sterile container and then transferred to a BD vacutainer with preservative tube. TRANSPORT CONDITIONS: Room Temperature (25±5°C): 3 days (preserved in BD tube) Refrigerated (5±3°C): 3 days (preserved in BD tube) Frozen (-15±5°C): Unacceptable |
